I joined the Department of Psychology at University of Copenhagen in September, 2023 as an Associate Professor. Prior to joining University of Copenhagen, I worked as an assistant professor of psychology at New York University Shanghai (2016-2023), and as a research associate at the German Youth Institute (Deutsches Jugendinstitut) in Munich, Germany (2015). I received my doctoral and master's degrees from University of Cambridge, and undergraduate degrees from Peking University. 

My research focuses on fatherhood, parent-child interactions and relationships, and children and adolescents’ socioemotional and gender development (main area of interest: Greater China and East Asia). I am also interested in general issues pertaining to human development, family research, gender studies, cultural and cross-cultural psychology, and intercultural interactions. My work has appeared in leading journals such as Child Development Perspectives, Child Development, Psychology of Men and Masculinities, and Journal of Family Theory and Review, as well as in edited volumes on fatherhood and gender studies. 

In addition to scholarly publications, my public writing or media interviews have appeared in English- and Chinese-language outlets such as BBC, South China Morning Post, Sixth Tone, The Conversation, The Paper, The Beijing News Book Review, Jiemian, and Vistopia.
