Serial Fiction and Cross-Media Storyworlds for Children and Young Audiences (RYA)
Børn og unges medievaner er under hastig forandring. De er stadig storforbrugere af fiktion, men de møder nu fiktionsfortællinger i mange formater på mange forskellige platforme. I tæt samarbejde med en række internationale forskere og nationale branchepartnere kombinerer dette forskningsprojekt produktions- og publikumsstudier for at analysere det aktuelle landskab for produktion, distribution og reception af fiktionsindhold til børn og unge.
Børn og unges medievaner er under hastig forandring. De er stadig storforbrugere af fiktion, men de møder nu fiktionsfortællinger i mange formater på forskellige platforme. Med øget konkurrence fra bl.a. Netflix og Youtube har det de seneste år gjort det stadig sværere for dansk film, tv og online fiktion at nå det unge publikum. Dette forskningsprojekt bygger på en overbevisning om, at der er behov for en detaljeret analyse af de aktuelle produktionsstrategier bag fiktion til børn og unge koblet med en undersøgelse af det unge publikums mediebrug og opfattelse af fiktionsproduktioners kvalitet og relevans for at opnå en nuanceret forståelse af, hvordan dansk fiktion fortsat kan være en vigtig del af danske børn og unges hverdag.
Forskningsprojektet undersøger i tæt samarbejde med en række internationale forskere og nationale branchepartnere de grundlæggende forståelser af medialiserede børneliv, der ligger til grund for nutidige tv/web-serier samt tværmediale fortællinger, og analyserer, hvad der betragtes som ’best practice’ i produktionskulturen. Samtidig undersøger projektet børn og unges reelle mediebrug og præferencer, så den viden kan bidrage til kommende produktioner såvel som til film- og medievidenskabelige teorier om ’digital childhoods’ og forholdet mellem skabere, tekster og brugere i det aktuelle medielandskab.
Projektet bidrager således med ny og samfundsrelevant viden om produktion og reception af fiktion til børn og unge gennem samtænkning og udvikling af forståelsesrammer og tilgange fra hhv. produktions- og publikumsstudier.
