Since the 1990’s historians within the field of Information Studies have taken an interest in the history of information resulting in volumes such as Information History in the Modern World: Histories of the Information Age in 2010. Now, the history of information seems to be as topical as ever. Recent publications in 2021 such as Information: A Historical Companion and Information: Keywords cement the interest in the topic within different research communities.

The aim of this seminar is to gather researchers from different communities with an interest in the history of information in order to explore and further the discussion of information as a concept that designates a particular way of studying history.
